FGS/RootsTech 2015: A Photo Recap; Day 1

I attended the largest genealogy conference in the United States this past week, RootsTech. It was held in Salt Lake City at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The conference was special this time with the added bonus of another conference, the FGS annual conference. Two conferences in one place! Wow, I just had to go.

This was my 3rd. RootsTech and 1st. FGS conference attended. I met so many new people from around the U.S. and the world. I especially liked hanging out with the Australian group of ladies, like Alona Tester and Caitlin Gow. The classes offered had some of the most knowledgeable genealogical speakers in the world; from Thomas W. Jones to Curt Witcher and tech gurus from Thomas MacEntee to Lisa Louise Cooke, they had ‘em all.

After most conferences I attend, there is a dinner party held by Dick Eastman. This year was my 6th. time and one of the best. I look forward to the next FGS and RootsTech conference next year and I highly recommend that you go too.

   Now to the photos!

  3. Paul, to clarify you're last sentence, FGS and RootsTech will not be held together in the future. This was a one-time special event. FGS 2016 is scheduled for August 31 – September 3 in Springfield, Illinois.
